Hi
just installed win7 for the first and i'm having a bit of bother trying to transfer the folders in my user folder. using the location tab i can move the folders to my D drive however the folder from the C drive is still visible and i cant delete it i have tried emco move on boot but it didnt work. anyone shed some light on this.

Thanks

You can could deleting the folder via the command prompt. Click Start and then type in cmd and hit enter, within the command prompt window, navigate to where the folder is (type in cd .. to go back a folder and cd "name" to go inside a folder) and then type rd "name" /s /q

When you move it to another drive you should be asked if you want to move it or just copy. if you move it i think it should move it. But if you copy it then you will have to remove it from the interface.

my documents folder was only 300mb including save games and all sorts of documents. so i left it on the c:

click to manage multiple locations. just delete the contents and redirect it, you might not be able to delete the actual folder.

Maybe the folder you are trying to move or delete has been use or affected with virus that run simultaneously. You could also delete a file or folder that will bypass the recycle been just press shift and delete. I hope this can also help.

As long as the location for the folders is your D: drive, i would just leave the user folder as is.

Thinking about it, are they not system folders, so can't be deleted anyway.
