deleting partition to reformat

have an 160gb hdd with partition with 1 part windows and other with lots of data/film/music etc

i need to reformat and reinstall.

how is the best way to go about this? can i just reinstall and choose clean install or best to wipe clean and install, if so how to wipe without wiping all the data on 2nd partition.

you can choose which partition to install to

choose #1 and select 'quick format first' or whatever the obvious option is.

#2 will be left intact
