Is it worth doing? I've a H100 with Corsair SP 120s on it and my temps are ok (idle 30's and load in 60s) for an overclock of 4.2 (dialled my 4.5 back)

Is it worth delidding and trying or is the TIM used on the i7 3930k decent enough. Anyone with the same CPU delidded it?

As above you cannot delid a 3930K without almost certainly breaking it, and even if by some miracle you don't you will only reduce performance by replacing solder with TIM.

Well you can technically delid a sandybridge, but you'll need a hot plate, its been done with Haswell-e and Broadwell-e but the results of the Indium solder vs Liquid pro/ultra are debatable

Ah ok cool, didn't realise it was soldered. That'll be money saved on a delidding tool then lol. Cheers for the heads up. Disaster averted! :D
