Delidding 4770K

my 4770k arrived yesterday it's a total disaster, the base isn't flat at all, so it'll deffo need Lapping as well..... i wont tackle it for a few days yet, because i'm still trying to mod the intake area on my new A-10 and that's not going very well either.

ok the CPU lid was dead easy to lap once delided, but i'm not sure about the liquid pro because when you apply it to the cpu and put the lid back on, remove it again to check.... the two surfaces haven't made full contact, the lid only made 30% contact

so i've covered those resistors in sealent and i'll apply the liquid pro to both surfaces and try again tomorrow.......... the other side of the lid is a mirror copper finish as is the cooler.

it's ok now, both surfaces are making full contact, but the liquid pro has to really thin on both the CPU and the lid, the cotton buds supplied to apply it aren't that good, it's far better to use a high quality artists paint brush
