What's with the new phase of Deliveroo / Uber eats cyclists riding around playing music so everyone in the city can hear?

I can only presume they think it makes them cool instead of wearing some earphones. One guy the other day was pumping out tunes whilst looking at his phone and he rammed head on into some roadworks. He was fine as got up quickly and tried not to look embarrassed

Maybe it's only a Leeds thing. Does this happen in other cities?

have seen the odd few around the london area... mainly people blasting out while riding across a park

Kinda reminds me back when i visited China a good decade ago, i saw a large number of people with decked out scooters .. floor lights and blasting music... like a cheap knockoff to riced up cars

Are their any laws against playing loud music whilst riding around on a bike? Seems quite dangerous at some of the levels people ride around
I might rig up basket with a generator and a JBL PartyBox 1000 for a Sunday tow path ride

Judging by the typical 'loud exhaust on motorbike' discussions, the louder it is the safer it is.

They're probably doing it for their own safety.

i'm surprised it took so long for people to walk around with bluetooth speakers here.

in Switzerland there were always student age types wandering around with speakers or sitting in the city centres since years.

it's like back in the good old days with boom boxes whats not to like?

It's kinda interesting the music the young folks listen to these days, seems to be a lot of drum'n'bass around in Newcastle or old rave music.

in switzerland it was a lot of hardcore techno.

I guess delivery driving is boring without any entertainment and wearing earphones is less safe even if you only wear 1 ear

Ya'll seen the UK guy who does the live stream djing on a bicyle? :D skip the first few mins until he starts riding

This dude is absolutely epic

Check out his latest, what a crowd.

Is there a decibel limit they must exceed before you’re allowed to open fire at them? Asking for a friend, obviously.

Certainly doesn't seem to be one for trashy motor bikes which you can hear halfway across town. Either where the obnoxious noise came for free or was a premium feature.
