Hmm, OK was all set to get a 1530 from the Outlet and but got looking at the 1525 and Vostro 1500.
What are the major differences between the three models really?
They all seem to spec to similar levels with price being the main factor.
Size and weight seem similar too?
What am I missing?
Looking at something around either a T7250 or T7500 (does 4mb cache make a noticeable difference?), 2Gb RAM, 160Gb(ish) drive.
Vostro at least has option o higher res screens.
8400 or 8600 graphics if possible as want to drive an external 24" monitor and had problems with onboard graphics previously.

Also the 4mb of cache really wont make much of a difference in day to day use.

Finally bear in mind you wont be gaming at high res with an 8600! It will start to struggle with resolutions above 1440x900

Thanks for feedback. Thought I had seen an non integrated option on 1525 as there isn't may be an issue.
I do not game but the Sony I have with 945 integrated seems unable to du dual screen with my 24" at 1680x1050 hence why I was looking at dedicated graphics.

Should I need dedicated to do this or was it just the 945 I have in the Sony maybe?

Andrew

8600m minimum for 24" res, it struggles with new games as it is. 8400 gives some noticeable desktop lag at that res so I advise against it.
