Dell 1905fp blank screen? "power save mode"

Ive connected my new comp together and ive got the 360 connected through vga to the dell, then im trying to connect the dell to the pc. Im using a dvi cable to connect the monitor to the 6800gt and nothings happening? it says "dvi in power save mode" if i press the menu button though?
Please help!!

the xbox 360 shows up so its not the monitor

Yeah but the 360 isn't using DVI is it? Is it a just built new PC? Perhaps something else is wrong other than the monitor.
