I currently have a Dell 2007WFP TFT, but its going back again... (Long story)

Now playing Guildwars, CS:S etc... at 1650x1080 is really good, but is 1600x1200 better?

reason I ask as im at the stage of getting a refund...

But I have the option of having the 2007FP as its the same price as I paid for the 2007WFP

So, which would be better, main use is gaming, surfing...

I recently got the 2007FP and I'm very pleased with it. Sure, widescreen movies have a black band at the top and the bottom but I'm using it as a workstation mainly not a multimedia system (even though I watch quite a bit of tele on it on a tv card).

As 212 said - you get more pixels with the 2007FP screen! (plus its cheaper, win win)
 
What did you find so wrong with the 2007WFP? I ask because I've just received mine and it's awesome!!
 
I dont understand the fascination of people in widescreen lcds. You seem to pay more for less.

The only time they make sense is for movies.

Most of the stuff people do day in day out on a computer is best on a 4:3 screen.

I have had the 2001fp and they 2007fp and they are both superb :)
 
Widecsreen is better for PC monitors for the same reason it's better for a TV - it's a closer match to our field of view. Also games look more panoramic and dramatic in widescreen. The limited horizontal FOV of a game on a 5:4 or 4:3 screen can be claustrophobic.

Also if anything widescreens are now cheaper (if you are comparing diagonal size and not area).
