im going to be ordering parts for a new PC next week and ive been looking at the Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP.

I noticed it has quite a few connections on it, DVI, VGA, S-Video, Composite.

What i was planning on doing is aswell as using it as the PC monitor but also as a TV by connecting the Sky Digital box to it.

Just checking that im right in thinking this would work.

You would have to use a scart to 3 phono cable, the yellow phono is video, which would go to the composite on the monitor, and the other two(left and right audio, white and red) would need to either connect directly into your speakers, or into a 3.5mm to 2 phono adapter to go in to your soundcard. Yes it should work.

Personally I'd use S-Video output vy using a SCART adapter (converts SCART into 3 x phono and S-Video), because it should provide a much better picture quality than Composite. The audio from the red/white phonos will have to go to whichever sound output you use. I'm pretty sure that the Sky box supports S-Video through SCART, at least for the primary SCART socket.

sorted then - the sound i already have connected to the PC soundcard atm, and will be doing the same with the new PC.

Mean i can can get rid of this old TV and save some space since i wont need the shelf unit for it :)
