Hi I've seen quite a few people here have an 2007WFP so I was hoping for some last minute answers before I buy mine...

Is 1680x1050 on a 20" hard on the eyes? I was going to go for a 22" but after seeing the bad viewing angles on various ones in the shops I changed my mind. It's mainly going to be used for programming so long hours staring at text.

Also, does anyone have banding on theirs? I've seen quite a lot of people complaining, but most seem to be in the US so I'm not sure if they might have slightly different firmwares or something?

Lastly, does it have any noticeable ghosting in fast games, 16ms seems pretty slow.

I'd appreciate any opinions,

Thanks!

edit: Actually, one more thing... has anyone got an XBOX360 linked up to it, if so which leads, and how does it look? :p

I have poor eye sight (need contacts/specs to do anything) and am able to read the text fine with the aid of my optical enhancers ;) I sit about 2 foot away from the monitor too.

I play many games and havent notice any ghosting on the 2007wfp (noticed it lots on my old 17" tft tho). I cant say I have noticed any banding either but then I dont look for that sort of thing :)

I had my xbox 360 plugged in to my VGA port using the offical MS VGA lead, and it looked perfect when set to 1280x1024 "WIDE" on the xbox, and "fill" on the monitor - Gears of War :D

1. Text is fine. It's around the same pixel density as 17" screens and they're fine for looking at text. I wouldn't worry about that.

2. The banding issue i think was down to a different panel being used (P-MVA i think) when Dell were running low on S-IPS panels. I think this was only a problem in the US, like you said, and this happened quite a while ago. I haven't seen a recent report of someone with this problem, mine is certainly fine.

3. The 16ms rated response time is the ISO response time. Most manufacturers state the g2g response time. Other manufacturers who use the same panel as in the Dell state their screens as having 8ms response times. So again this is not such a big issue as it looks. I haven't noticed any ghosting and other users on here who have used numerous other screen say that this is the best out of the lot for response time.

4. Sorry i can't help you with that as i don't own a 360. The Dell does have a lot of inputs and i'm sure i've read about many people who have this conencted to a 360. You'll be able to run the 360 at 1280x720 which should look good on a screen of this size.

:)

EDIT: Beaten
