Hi, I'm interested in these two monitors and am trying to figure if they both use the same panel. I know the Philips is quoted as 8 m/s, compared to 16 m/s for the Dell, but from what I've read it looks like they both share the same panel and the measurements are referring to slightly different things.

Would be grateful if someone could clarify this for me please. Also, any thoughts as to which is the best monitor would be welcomed.

If so, the Dell looks the better buy as it is HDCP compliant and has more connections. The Philips has built in speakers, but I don't need them.

I have the Dell 2007WFP dude, and I dont regret it one bit. I bought for the HDCP compliance, and the panel is just gorgeous to luck at. Gaming is very good also. :D

That's a weird gaming keyboard you have there! ;) :p

Glad you like the screen too, getting one in 3 weeks :D

I also have a Dell 2007WFP (well 2 actually) and they are perfect for gaming and movies!

as quote from Philips web site:
Response time (typical) : 8 (grey to grey) ms

I have the Philips 200W6CS Monitor, the quality is great, very strong, and looks very nice, i play a lot of CS: Source on this monitor and it plays it brilliantly (using X1900XT) - no signs of ghosting. Using default settings for the monitor - didn't even install the software which came with the monitor - only the ATi Drivers.

I suppose I am the perfect person to answer that, since I am using dual monitors with both screens.

TBH, the Dell wins out. I prefer the extra connection options and the fact you can alter the position of the monitor from horizonal to vertical.

If neither of them bother you though, they are very close to call. Both monitors are around the same in gaming (both from the PC and via a 360).

mmm just checked what I said and I was wrong and I dont want to post the correct whatever it was I said :P ignore this lol
