Hi seen these for £258 delivered. Was thinking of changing from my trusty Samsung 21" CRT

Read a few reviews mainly used for Internet and Gaming.

Seems a big price difference between this and the 19" monitors out there.

Do you think this would be a better buy than the Asus 22" TFT ?

wel the 2007WFP is using S-IPS panel technology as opposed to the rather restrictive TN Film tech of the Asus 22" (and other 22" models). Details on panel technologies here if you need them. It's a nice screen, good range of functions and inputs too. Nice performance for gaming certainly.

no issues really. The viewing angles are wide (we'll assume S-IPS ver here btw). movie playback is quite noisy compared to some other models, but not an issue from a couple of metres away, a sensible viewing distance. black depth is also a little limited, but nothing drastic from my experience with it. My thoughts on it here btw :)

Thanks Badass, would you recommend it over the 2025wm as an all round performer? I'm on the fence and not sure which to purchase.

hmmmn, all round performance might have to go to the VX2025WM tbh. Smoother movie playback, better black depth, but still good responsiveness, colour accuracy and depth and wide viewing angles. The Dell is a nice screen, and the extra inputs and functionality is nice. That's a tough call i'd say

Tell me about it. I need to make a decision failry promptly but i just can't decide which. The extra inputs, height adjustment and looks draw me towards the Dell but as i need something which will perform well with games, movies, photoshop and other general use, the 2025 makes it a very tough decision :(

toss a coin ;) that's a tough choice, i think you'd be happy with either

id just like to say i have the 2007wfp and i am very pleased with it came in perfect ciondition no dead pixels or any of that colour banding crap, the inputs are very usfull, like you im into gaming and movies and the pannel handels them very well.

I'd agree with Baddass's about the 2007WFP and it's movie weaknesses (noise and black depth) so I'd say it's not the best movie screen around.

Well i've taken the plunge and ordered a 2007WFP. At £260 delivered i think it's an absolute steal. It may not perform as well as the ViewSonic but i think the other features and looks, along with the price more than make up for it.

Should be here on Thursday. I spose i can always use my trusty Pro 454 CRT for anything the Dell can't quite handle, assuming i can find the room for it that is :)

Sure thing, when it arrives i'll post some up. My camera is a bit dodgy at the mo but i'm sure i'll be able to get some good ones if i play about with it for a while.

can you take some pictures of it playing movies? xvids/dvds?
Dunno if you were asking me, but my camera is too awful for it to be worth taking pictures of the screen with sadly. There's no doubt the screen does bring out the noise in regular DVDs more than a CRT TV, but there's always a solution - like using the NR filter in ffdshow. Also playing DVDs through my 360 looks a lot nicer than playing them through WinDVD/PowerDVD on my PC (both connected to the 2007WFP of course), so the screen isn't entirely at fault. I'd say software playback is adding to the noise and doing a bad job of upscaling.

Personally I chose the 2007WFP over the 2025wm because of the extra scaling modes the Dell has, and the reports of backlight bleed problems on some of the Viewsonics. Plus I didn't hear about the black depth and movie playback issues on the Dell until after I'd ordered it. It's a very nice screen though overall and hasn't given me any problems significant enough to make me wish I'd got something else. It's also a lot quicker than the 16 ms rating would suggest.
