DELL 2209WA resolution

Hi all,

Thanks for your advice on this monitor which arrived yesterday and boy do i love it the picture quality is excellent.

Ive set the desktop res to 1600 x1050 as reccomended and a lot of games let me set the ingame res to this.

However some games i have do not give this option, left4dead for example only lets me go up to 1450 x900. Any ideas why this is??

Also aspect ratio whats that as im a complete novice on pcs, i have choice of 16:10, 16:9 or 4:3.

all help appreciated as id love to play left 4 dead on the monitors native resolution.

1680x1050 is the native res and it's a 16:10 ratio

aspect ratio is the ratio between the number of hroisontal poxels to the number of vetical pixels.

eg a 16:10 monitor would have 1.6 times more horixontal pixels than vertical pixels.

Some games don't support high resoulutins and you may need to mod an ini file to get the game working at your preffered resolution

Lovely thanks for the quick response, the game lets me set 16:10 ratio so i will select this.

Ive tried google and it seems no one has this problem, others are stating that they are running the game at far higher ress than what i want. Apparently the game supports it but it just does not show up on my options.

Any ideas? ill keep searching google as well hehe.
