Dell 2405 and xbox 360

Borrowed a 360 from work for a few days too try out my 2405 expecting a close performance too some HD TV's. I set it up on component and it looks absolutely terrible.

I dont 100% understand all this HD business but i tried all the diff modes the 360 gives me and tried 1:1, fill and all of the HD modes with no luck.

I seen gotham running on a 26" samsung LCD and it looked about 20 times better than the picture i am getting. Hopefully i am doing something wrong or i am gonna be very dissapointed The image is all blurry and soo jaggy.

Can anyone confrim i am doing the right thing with setting this up plzzzz!

first of all, i know it sounds silly but have you flipped the switch on the cable to HDTV?

Yeh first thing i did, getting use too it now. Realised i was very close too the screen at first so maybe i was been a bit fussy. 1080i + aspect probably the best setting i found so far.

Yeah, that sounds about right...I use 720p and aspect.

The launch titles mostly look awful, a nicely AA'd game like the Fight Night demo looks a damn sight better than most games available at the moment.

i play pgr3 on my 2405 over component fine, no blurring and jaggies. im using 1:1 mode with x360 setup to display 1080i

Think the initial reason was how close i was too the screen but i still think the samsung 26" i had used before did output an a lot better picture than this monitor on the 360. Dont get me wrong this monitor is the best thing i have bought in a while and i am already bored of the 360 so thats going back. Back too some high rez BF2 again

I use component, 720p full screen. It looks very nice but its a bit too dark and there's no brightness setting through component. It's fine for things like condemned where you get brightness setting in the options but not too good for pgr3.
