you wont get artifacts when gaming on this. the only draw back is the juice your gfx are able to provide to run games full res. say either quake4 or fear your looking at 7800gt or x1900 card

Yeah, you will need a good PC to run 1920x1200, but the montior still looks good at 1650 x 1080 full screen.

It's a great monitor, you won't regret buying it. Make sure you get the newer model (2407) though as it supports HDCP so you can play HD DVD and BluRay discs at high definition.

Edit - I'm not actually sure if the 2407 has been released yet, I thought it would have been, but can't see it any where.

No, it hasn't been released yet. Its suggested that the launch is going to be near the end of this month. The 2405 is a great monitor, can't fault it. Although as already said, the huge resolution can cause problems for older graphics cards. Suprisingly though, I can run Call of Duty 2 at 1920x1200 with 4xAA with a high, playable framerate on my 6600gt.

I've just received one. It's great for some older games but there have been reports and some evidence of "display lag", which I've only encountered on FEAR and Q4. It looks like the old 'texture quality is too high' problem that everyone gets when they crank up to max settings on a card that just can't handle it, but even running FEAR and Q4 with the lowest settings, that lag is still there :-/

People have even ran this monitor dual screen with another TFT, displaying a timer, and taken a photo. The photo shows the 2405 showing an older time than the other monitor. Maybe it's just luck of the draw though, but people are suggesting it's the new 'overdrive' technology.

Not sure about it yet - am going to reply to a few threads that I've seen about it. I'd do some more research before buying this monitor, or wait for the 2407.

Will OcUK be selling the 2407 when it comes out?
