Dell 2407 dead....replacement advice??

Hi folks,

My three and a half year old Dell 2407WFP just died couple of days ago.

Need some advice on a replacement from people who know what is desirable in current TFT's?

My requirements:

1900 x 1200 res
24"
Nothing cheap and nasty.

I have about £500 to play with and I've done a bit of research and the 2 models that seem to tick my boxes are the HP LP2475W and the current Dell Ultrasharp U2410.

System use is about 80% gaming / 20% web browsing.

Not interested in 3D or multi-monitor setups.....yet.

Just need some help choosing between the HP and Dell as they seem to be the 2 "best" 24 inch screens just now.

I'd choose the Dell with your budget. It has better colours and as far as I know, doesn't have the scaling issues the HP does.

Just make sure you don't get a model with the green-pink tint issue and you should be fine.
 
£500? Buy the Dell Ultrasharp U2410, without doubt.

What happened to your 2407? If the warranty has ran out, you might be able to fix it yourself. It could just be a blown fuse or a broken component that is replaceable.
 
I was leaning towards the Dell U2410, just wanted some confirmation before laying down that kinda cash on a monitor!

No idea what went wrong with my Dell 2407. There was a crackle, the screen flickered on and off about 5 times then it went completely dead :confused: MEH!!!
