Just a quick question for 2407 users

When I use vga connector I can go to menu and set pixel mapping to stretch or
to 1:1 pixel mapping

If I use DVI connector when I try to access the menu to change this the menu option is greyed out and is not selectable

Is this normal ?

Revision A04

Just curious what screen res are you on when the 1:1 works on DVI

Iam thinking its to do with current screen res ( if it aint 4:3 it wont let you use this )

Afaik, you cannot change the aspect/1:1/Fill settings when using DVI. Mine are greyed out too.

GM@N,
Are you using a 2407WFP??

Wombraider,
You can connect the monitor with both VGA and DVI cables, and just switch to VGA when you need 1:1 mapping.

Yes you can, just use the resolution you want i.e 1280x1024 in your nvidia or ati control panel and then make sure no scaling in control panel. As long as you don't use a widescreen high def res like 1920x1200 or any other hd res, the option will not be grayed out in the monitor control panel and you can scale how you like.

I've tried using different resolutions, but the nVidia CP won't let me change the Flat panel scaling. It's stuck on "use NVidia scaling", and when I change it to "use my display's built-in scaling" and then close and re-open the CP, it's back to "use NVidia scaling" :(.

Change your resoultion first. You can't use any high def ones becaue of hdmi over dvi (which means you can't change aspect and other things).
once the res is set to 1280 or whatever the option for scailing in the nvidia cp should be available for saving. Then go into monitor cp and should be ok to change aspect ratio.

ok can anyone explain what 1.1 mapping is and whats can i use it for
As devablue said, 1:1 means using the exact number of pixels specified by the resolution.

So, 1024x768 only uses 1,024 pixels horizontally, and 768 pixels vertically, which looks like this (on a 1920x1200 pixel screen):

I did all that already and no luck. After some more googling, I've discovered that this is a problem with nvidia drivers and 8800 cards. I'm amazed that it hasn't been fixed yet, as it's a big issue for gamers.

Here's a thread about the problem:

Can I ask a question of why you'd want to get an absolutely MASSIVE 24" monitor and then only use the middle of it?

Just curious...
Some older games have max resolutions of 1280x1024, or don't support widescreen, so unless you don't mind everything stretched sideways, it's the only way to play these games at the correct aspect.

Also...

To preserve the pixel for pixel quality picture when using non-native resolutions. I hate scaled blurry crap at non-native which is why I love 1:1 mapping. Its not for everyone but for me I prefer it and hence why I wanted an A04 (or BenQ).

Plus for resolutions like 1600x1200 (and any 4:3 resolutions) its a god send.

Hmm thats odd because my Dell 2407WFP overides what my ATI control panel says which for me is good. ATI is set to scale image, but I always overide that with the Dell menu. Doesn't the Dell menu let you override that of your graphics card drivers? (Note: scaling options are greyed out in 1920x1200 on the Dell panel for obvious reasons).

i'm running a 8800gtx with vista using latest drivers (100.65 i think) and i've got no problems, i'm using rev A03 panel.

It only seems to affect the 97.* XP drivers. Older drivers (up to 96.89) don't have this problem.
