I have had this monitor for a good 8 years, I am going to try and repair it, but in the meantime I need a replacement. There are so many to pick from these days but I could do with something which fits these specs if possible:

1920x1200 res
Good viewing angle
Very good colour accuracy
Not too bad for a bit of fps gaming

I was looking at the dell u2412m, how is this likely to compare to the 2407? Is the 8 ms response time likely to be bad for gaming?

Thanks for any help with choosing.

Dell U2415 is also a good shout if you wish to replace with a similar size rather than going up a size.

TFT Central has a good review and I'm sure Badass could tell you all about it :p

My dell 2407 is still going! I have it in portrait mode as a 3rd screen, mainly for running widgets like CPU and GPU usage monitors etc.

Like others have said, don't bother with 1920 x 1200, which are rare now, just get the best 2560 x 1440 IPS your budget will allow, if you're not too fussed about high hz gaming of course....

Had mine 9 years and its still my main monitor, am worried now everyones seems to have broke. Just out of interest is it jist the capacitors that need chanhed or something else?

I've recently bought a bunch of Dell P2214H and P2414H's for work. Sadly they are 16:9 so only 1920x1080, but colour accuracy has been good and viewing angles are also really good. Can't comment on the fps for gaming though, but apparently 8ms.

I went with the Dell UltraSharp U2715H 27" in the end. A bit out of my price range, but I have been happy with my old dell and their support does actually seem to be quite good.

I managed to find a guy in the USA who sells repaired power boards for the 2407wfp, so I have also gone down this route too, he even refunds some of the money back if you send him the broken board.

Next problem will be sorting out my desk space, I am not sure I have enough space for a 27" and a 24" monitor (if the replacement board fixes the 24").
