Dell 2407 + Freeview Box

I'm thinking of getting a Dell 2407 but what I'm unsure of is how a Freeview Box plugged in via the RGB component via Scart from the Freeview Box will look like. I'm aiming for the monitor to replace my current TV but I couldn't be done with an LCD TV as the resolution is way too low as a computer screen :o

Freeview Box is Sony VTX-D800U
Output Format (PAL) - RGB, CVBS, Y/C

Anyone tried this with any success?

I use a supermarket £14 freeview box with the 2407.... from a distance it's fine but there are quality issues to be honest. HOWEVER, I think that is the freeview boxes themselves, as it's just as bad on my mum's lcd tv....
 
Any reason not to get a TV card (or USB dongle) instead? If your PC is on anyway, you might as well go for a card since you'll maximise your picture quality that way (especially if you're running MCE [or a version of Vista with MCE])

Well I was thinking that but more cost involved really and since I've already got a Freeview box I figured it was easier to connect it and save some money. The box I've got seems pretty decent so in theory might be okay?

What sort of resolution does freeview receive in as the A04 version of the 2407WFP does 1:1 pixel mapping so would that not keep the quality a bit better?

Also, can you set the colours/contrast/brightness specific to each individual output?

Personally I would go the digi-card route. If you live in the right area like me you can even then pick up the BBC's HD transmissions :D
Also the picture quality will be far better than a seperate digi-box.

bbc hd even with using something like a usb dongle tv card?

i was tempted myself to get a freeview box for my 2407, if nothing else it saves having the pc on needlessly surely?
