Can I download some high definition videos and see what all the (sky) HD gasps are about ?

If so - what will particularly show the monitor off....

TIA :)

well yes, you can since the screen supports a resolution high enough to show 1080 vertical lines. Best bet is to download some of microsoft's HD content at 1080 and try that :)

thanks fellas.

So these 1080p demos as good as it gets ?

My folks have a 32" HD Toshiba tv in their living room - will these convince them to ditch the old Sky box and go HD or is there any better ?

Grabbed the `race` one from microsoft ... seems a bit grainy to be honest - grabbing some more (and the open source film - thank you)

Any more to make me gasp ? :D

I tried the high def videos off microsofts website on my 2407 also. I couldnt even see any difference between them and dvd.

Batman Begins trailer from Apple trailers.

Some of the WMV HD stuff from MS.

Elephants Dream is not something very good to show off the monitor on.

Great, so I downloaded elephants dream last night. Tried to run it in GOM player and media player with ffdshow installed. Nothing. They cant play it for some reason.

And now when I go to delete it, it wont let me because its "being used", wtf?

EDIT: Ok so I just tried VLC and its working :o

it tis stillb eing used then ctrl+del+alt then just kill the relevant player on the list
its more to do with an app not closing properly than the file it self

Yeah forgot to mention I tried that, theres no process' listed. They closed properly :/

Looks like a safe mode jobby next time I restart.

Explorer has a habit of locking out files when it shouldn't.
You don't need safe mode, you just need to restart.

If you're lucky you may be able to delete it from the command line instead of through explorer, without restarting. Sometimes explorer is so busy trying to read the details of a file it doesn't understand that it's locked out the entire time you have the icon selected.
