Dell 2407 hours usage?!

Recently bought a dell 2407 off a competitor, claimed as brand new. Came packaged with everything, looked brand new, stand was stiff as if it was new, but then i went into the advanced OSD menu settings...

Apparently the monitor usage is 2921 hours and 24 minutes. Now i've been on it for about 24 minutes.. have they sent me a monitor that has been used for 2921 hours? Or is it a mistake in the menu? Anyone else had this? Seems awfully odd!

Dell monitors count the time they are connected to mains ( ie plugged in)
They dont have to actually be switched on to count "usage" time ( ironic)

Mine had a little usage time few hours I think ( own 2407 / 2707 )

Ring Dell, they'll prob arrange for a new one to be sent to you. Might aswell for piece of mind.

Mine (2407wfp) has a about 300 hours on it and is supposedly brand new.

Not sure if I should be bothered by it or not tbh

if i had 2921 hours on my new dell monitor i'd be on the phone to them!

Even if theyve been quality checked they should be checked for that long surely.

I'd be straight on the phone to them sounds as if it could possibly be a refurb?
If they argue it, I'd standby it cant be brand new as the menu clearly states its previously been used.
