Just cleaning off my new 2407 because it's not exactly clean coming from the factory (no its not a refurb) but I've just noticed the panel is loose, when cleaning it, the pannel doesnt feel completely secure to the bezel, you can push it and it moves (not bending and with little force).

Is this right?!

how do u mean it moves? U mean it moves in some other way than if u were tilting the monitor or turning it into portrait mode?

He means you can push the screen in, ie the actual LCD panel isn't fixed to the bezel in some places. I don't think that's normal PiKe, it doesn't happen on my 2007WFP (with light pressure) or any of the other TFTs I've owned. Sounds like a build quality issue and RMA time.

fish99 is right.

What number do I need to call to organise a replacement/refund?

Also, it's not just a loose panel, theres a spec of dust or dirt behind the screen which really irritates me (maybe due to panel being loose dirt got in?) and the right hand side of the screen is 1cm lower than the left.

I'm not really sure that I want a replacement even if I did get it for £560 odd :(

Will they come and pick the screen up when they deliver the other one?

Will it be a brand new replacement seeing as its only a few days old?

Do I have to lie to their CS or is a loose panel enough to get it replaced?

Well say that the panel is loose and dust is behind the panel.

Say you want a replacement, I think they send you one and give you details on how to send back the "faulty" one (Free).

And yes they should send you a brand new one.

I would think it would be enough for a return, and you should get another new screen, although there's no guarantees. If you also aren't impressed with the screen maybe a refund would be a better option. Make sure you tell them dust can get in through the gap and eventually there will be enough dust to completely ruin the picture.

How you go about returning it or asking for a refund depends on where you got it from. If it's from Dell direct you phone Dell. If it's through OcUK, you would need to phone Dell for a replacement (using work order number), or OcUK for a refund. If it's through some other retailer (or an auction site) you'll probably have to contact the retailer for either refund or replacement.

Usually the courier takes the faulty screen with swap outs.

Yeah I bought direct from Dell.

If I explicitly state I dont want a refurb I should get a new one? If they can't gaurantee that then I'll just get a refund I think.

What number do I need to quote to them because I'm gonna need to call from work..

Can't see a service tag number anywhere.

Rang this morning, I couldnt communicate across 'loose panel' but they seemed happy with the sloping stand. Getting a brand new replacement but not when the courier picks the old one up.
