Hello

Sorry to burden you with yet another Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP question.

My computer has an AGP version of the Nvidia GeForce 6800GT and I wanted to know if I could still use the Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP. Alright, I may not be able to use it at 1920 x 1200 but would it look ok at lower resolutions??

Thank you

Ian.

You will be able to use 1920x1200 with your 6800GT in Windows and some games, although you'll want to use lower resolutions for more demanding games to get an acceptable framerate. Add some custom resolutions in the drivers, I'd recommend adding 1680x1050 (16:10), 1440x900 (16:10), 1360x768 (16:9), 1280x800 (16:10), and 1280x720 (16:9) at least. The 16:9 ones will run in a letterbox provided you set them to maintain the aspect ratio (in digital flat panel settings or in the monitor OSD).

For the record I've got an AGP (pretty irrelevant) 6800GT and a 2405FPW, you'd be suprised how well HL2 runs in 1920x1200 (provided the rest of your system is up to it).

My 2405 scales down to 1680 x 1050 very well for games imo. In fact it scales much lower without much problem, but a true 16:10 ratio will look much better. I've not got much need for that atm as I've just upgraded to an x1900xt which seems to like the high res quite a lot!
