dell 2407 settings

could someone please point me in the direction of a guide on exactly how to set it up

currently got a 6800 LE but am looking at getting something like an ati x800 or something else around £50 secondhand AGP instead
i need a lower profile card as case is cramped and access to ram slots is inhibited as the 6800 LE is massive

WHAT AGP card should i try to find VIVO would be a bonus obviously needs DVI

if there arent any setup guides could someone please talk me through it or email screenshots of exactly what settings i need to alter to achieve a good picture as at present the background appears a little blotchy

want to persevere as it is awesome for films

there's not really a generic guide, since profiling can really vary from one screen to another, and will depend on GFX card and PC too. All i can suggest is making sure you're running at a native res of 1920 x 1200 and at 60Hz refresh rate. Use DVI if possible. you'll prob want to drop the brightness down to around 30% as a start, as default brightness is very high. Apart from that, you can try some software calibration to help get colour levels even. For something more reliable you could get a Spyder2Express colorimeter perhaps for around £60...that might help get the screen set up nicely. If you want very good colour accuracy you'd need to invest in a more expensive colorimeter like the LaCie Blue Eye Pro or something similar

Hey Badass, I tried the software calibration you suggested and the difference is noticable on the first try. However, at step 2, it is not very clear what it means by "blend" well. Any ideas?

is that the bit with the colour sqaures? Its best to squint a little at the screen and as you move the slider the colour sections will all blend in together. hth

When i use the software, half the text doesnt show up in the box and i cant stretch it bigger :confused:

Anyone know what to do?
