Looking at buying this monitor as im after a big widescreen solution but without a hefty price tag. I'm an avid gamer so also looking for a very good monitor on that front, this one seems to be the best for the size in terms of opinions and value.

I'm also looking at buying an XBox 360 and wondering if i can plug it into this monitor but don't understand all the different connections available.

Please could someone tell me if this is a good monitor to use a 360 with and what connections i would use to plug it in to this monitor.

Much appreciated :)

You would use the 360 HD VGA cable with that screen, the official microsoft one too since it's supposed to be superior to the 3rd party ones. Then you'd have your PC connected via DVI.

Btw if the screen is just for the 360 and not also for your PC then an LCDTV would probably be a better solution.

No, its primarily for my PC as i want to move to Widescreen from my 19" normal one and want the best i can get on my budget but with the option of plugging in a 360, there's no point in me having a HD TV where my computer is as i only receive analog tv atm.

A HD TV is something i'll get a couple of years down the line.

I'm was thinking of getting a 360 Premium so i can get the component cables so that i can plug the PC through DVI and the 360 through component on the monitor.

Would this work ok?
Would there be any noticeable difference in quality between using DVI and component?

I would definitly reccomend using vga for the 360 instead of component, I was'nt impressed of component at all on my dell, just use your PC through DVI and 360 through VGA it's the best way.

The 2407 is awesome for PC and 360 usage as I have the 360 myself, gorgeous picture. if you get the Microsoft VGA cable you'll be able to run up to 1080i once you update the Xbox software and the VGA cable comes with a PC audio jack so you can plug that into your standard PC subwoofer and play through the PC speakers if you have a nice set up, that's a pretty important factor.
