Hello, I was wondering if any one could tell me the aspect ratio of this monitor. Is it 16:9 or 16:10? Thinkin of gettin a smaller ultrasharp to match it. lookin at the 20-22" and wonderin what aspect ratio the 24" model is. Thanks.

If you are looking for a 20-22in Ultrasharp, I must highlight the Dell 2209WA to you. It is a lovely monitor that uses an e-IPS screen, 1680x1050 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio.

However, I would strongly suggest waiting for some indepth reviews of the HP ZR24w. It is £75 more expensive than the 2209WA, however on paper it is much better. It is 24in, 16:10 1920x1200 (just like your 2407), uses an S-IPS panel (in many cases will be better than your 2407) and costs much less than other non-TN 24in displays. There should be an in-depth review of it in two weeks time on tftcentral.

Thanks for the information andi. However, I have already got my 2407 (well baught) anyway, I would like a 2nd hand secondary monitor to go with it, and want it to look the same (same design). Just wonderin which one would be the best suited.

Ah, I see what you mean. In that case I would look out for a second hand 2209WA and failing that a 2007WFP. The 2007WFP just looks like a smaller version of the 2407 - so it will match the best. However, the 2209WA is the better monitor and there are a few good second-hand prices flying around if you know where to look. IMHO the styling on the 2209WA is a bit different from the 2407 (square buttons along the right side, running up vertically), but apart from that it retains the no-frills elegance of most Dell Ultrasharp monitors - so will look great alongside the 2407 (if you want, you can rotate it 90degrees - so you get 1680 vertical lines - ideal for text display on a secondary monitor).

Cheers matey :) What would go best then with the 24"? A 20" with a rez of 1600x1200 4:3?

Yes - exactly. The 16:10 is literally a wider version. The Pixel pitch will be the same, the vertical height will be the same, and the pixel height will be the same.

You can also do a 17" in portrait for a pretty close match as well.

I have one and I use a 19" beside at 1280x1024. Physical size is close but pixels are much larger. Kinda sucks but it's not that bad because it's actually 2 separate computers side by side with synergy...

tvcalculator.com is good fro calculating these kind of things.
