Ive had my Dell 2407WFP-HC for about a year and a half now. Today its developed 5 dead pixels all next to one another. It is very unlikely it has been knocked as its mounted to the wall and there is no damage to the screens surface.

Where do i stand with dells warrenty as i'm struggling to find any information on it?

Thanks :)

Well I got a magnifying glass out and theres 7 dead pixels and ive found a bright pixel ont he left hand side as well. Problem now is Dell technical support want a service tag number. Anyone got any advice on how to deal with these people or maybe a direct number that'll get me to someone worth talking to!!

Whoever you end up talking to at Dell you will still need that service tag number. If I remember correctly, it should be on a label on the back of the monitor.

Got it sorted in the end. 5th phone call I managed to get through to a guy who knew what he was on about and he only needed the serial number.

I have a replacement coming tomorrow I'm just crossing my fingers its a good panel otherwise they will be having it back again.

Did the guy tell you that it will be a 2408 that's coming? I've read of a fair number of other users RMAing 2407 over the past 6 months (across various forums, not just at OCuk) and getting 2408 in return simply because they no longer manufacture the 2407.

He just said they have a suitible replacement in stock so ive got no idea. Ive got my fingers crossed although I wont be too disappointed if its a 2407 i get.

I just dont want to be fobbed off with a substandard refurb as mines been kept in perfect condition. I'll be taking pictures of it before it goes back just incase they try to argue about the condition it was in.

Although they have been super quick with replacing it ive recieved a refurbed Dell 2407WFP non HC and its got paint down the back of it  so ill be back on the phone to them over lunch!!

Tell me about it.

I purchased a Dell 2407wfp when it was practically. A few months later is was broken. Even though mine was nearly new, and still smelled new, I got this crappy RMA'ed one back >_>

Still, its done me well.

Well there sending me a second replacement tomorrow. Apparently they can't send me a new one but as long as the one that comes tomorrow is in good condition with a perfect screen i'm not going to moan.

I'm just wondering if ive made the right decission sending my original one back as it had no ghosting and very little backlight bleed. I can see this going on for quite a while if they dont send me a good one.
