Hey all,

Just got this loverly monitor. Just need to ask something though. When I maximise a window, say IE, the screen starts to make a buzzing noise. However if a minimise a window and return to desktop it stops.

Anyone with this monitor have the same thing?

Cheers

never heard of that on any monitor tbh! make sure you're running at 60Hz refresh rate maybe....also try VGA and DVI and see if it does it on both?

HI there

Try using a different power lead.

If it still does it then try plugging in the monitor elsewhere or if possibly connect the monitor onto a UPS/Surge protector to rule out any possibilities there.

Other alternative is just leave the panel on for a good 48 hours just in case its settling in, like a running in period kind of thing.

Tried that Gibbo, no luck :(

I've maximised Outlook Express and it doesn't do it, but when I do the same in Internet Explorer it starts buzzing. I can't figure it out. Why should different applications make a difference.

I've had issues like this before with video cards but not with a monitor. Quite a few video cards I've had would buzz when there were certain colours on screen, lots of white seemed especially bad. My 8800 does it too. I suppose it could be a similar issue.

Hopefully you can find out from other 2407-HC owners if they all do it or it's just yours.

Hi there

Try it on another PC is possible.

If it does the same on an other PC then call DELL and basically tell them the monitor has huge issues, make it sound a lot worse than it is. Also be clear to tell them its less than 28 days old and as such you want a brand new replacement ASAP. That way they will replace it for you and normally within a day or two.

P.S. Also sounds daft, but maybe try a different set of graphic drivers.
