Hi all,

Got my 2407WFP delivered on Friday and it is fantastic, but I have a problem. There are no dead/stuck pixels buy I have a line that runs the full height of the screen, but only visable on darker colours. Hopefully a picture will appear below:

Anyone seen this before. I assume it will have to be swapped?

Any advice welcome.

I'd go for trying to get it RMA'd...

I just tried to get my screen replaced through Dell for a similar problem (something minor but annoying non the less), but cause i have had the screen for 2 months now they can only offer a refurb and cannot gaurentee the revision.. bit pants really to be honest...

Two months doesn't seem long at all to ask for a refund if the monitor isn't as perfect as it should be, never mind an exchange for a new one.

Paying a premium amount of money for that monitor that is asked I would expect a premium level of customer service, after all it is not a cheap and generic one is it...?

I would be very tempted to put your points in writing and, from their response, then let them know that you are considering involving your credit cards disputes department to let them resolve it for you if no amicable solution can be found, assuming, and hoping, that you used a credit card to pay for it.

Remember they have a responsibility under the SOGA that they can't ignore.

• Aspects of quality include fitness for purpose, freedom from minor defects, appearance and finish, durability and safety.

• It is the seller, not the manufacturer, who is responsible if goods do not conform to contract.

Remember the second point as well.

Yeah i agree with what you're saying. I contacted the company i bought it off and they have said the same thing, has to be a refurb, except they can guarantee it will be an A04... Has anyone actually received a factory refurb? What are they like?

I went through 4 diff 2407 until I got a good one
One of them was a refurb , it was the best of the bunch but was second hand
and a bit grubby , it was an A04 ( upgraded A03 )

What was wrong with the other 3, if you dont mind me asking? Major issues or just small things?

Yeah i'm not sure i want a refurb... im sure they are ok and work fine but out of principle i would prefer new. So i'm tempted to live with this small gripe i have and keep my shiny 2 month old screen.

1. Had flickering problem with vga input ( static pixels colours would change on desktop background etc )
2. replacement #1 , got shipped to wrong town ....
3. replacement #2 , was refurbed A04 , but was second hand and grubby
4. replacement #3 , had a dead red subpixel near middle of screen.
5. replacement #4 , was A ok and I kept it

Was nice having 2 at one time for a few days was running Armed assault across
2 screen at 3840 x 1200 ( was mightly indeed ) 48" inches of viewage also using trackir @ same time was amazing

I phoned Dell today and they are going to replace it. They tried offering a refurb unit but when I said that wouldn't be acceptable as it is only three days old they said they would send a new one, but it could take around 7-10 days.

What is the procedure. Do you have to pack up the old screen and send it back with the courier or do you get some labels or something and get chance to compare the two?

Guess I'm just worried about getting one worse than mine.

Whats up with your screen at the moment mate?

I heard that they leave it with you (both of them) and come and collect the other one at a later date.

I have a line running full height of the screen, about three pixels wide. It looks like a ladder close up. This is the best picture I could get:
