I've got the Dell 2407WFP but the power button on the monitor has a habit now of twisting when I turn it on/off to the point of not being able to operate it. However if you twist it back with your finger nails or small screwdrive back to its upright position, it will work again. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking about opening the monitor up to have a look.

Yes, it's a common problem in them. There's a thread knocking about where a few people have reported it and it even had pictures.

Wouldn't advise opening it up.

i guess the only solution without have to open it is to put some sellotape over the button to stop it from rotating.

If you're worried about the power button breaking, just leave it on standby - my 2007wfp only uses 1W on standby. Of course if it's under warranty then you can always get it replaced.

I would do that but I'm selling the monitor and don't want to sell it as faulty.

Been reading the other threads but when I ring Dell up there is no option on the automatic system for monitors. Also I can't find the works order number from the original box.

I bought the monitor as new off eBay, about 6months ago, it should still be covered under warranty shouldn't it?

Yeah should be covered, although you might want to check with whoever you bought it from. Some of the ebay Dell resellers insist you go through them for warranty claims (and they call Dell on your behalf). If it was just from an individual (ie a private sale) then you just tell Dell you don't have a work number since it's just a monitor, and then you tell them the serial. AFAIK anyway.
