Dell 2409W, weird issue...

On trying to use the DVI input I get an on screen message saying:

'Your current configuration is not supported'
'Please change your settings to 1920x1080 @ 60hz'

Thats exactly what it is set at and its fine through the analogue port.

Any ideas anyone?

maybe you have to set your comp to 1080
