Dell 2417DG Flashing different colours

Hello,

I turned on my monitor this morning, and the monitor was flashing different colors. It was flashing red, green, blue and white.

When I booted up my PC it had the color settings back to default. When I brought up the monitor menu it was in the top left corner, instead of the bottom right corner.

And then when you turn off the PC, the colors flash again. The monitor works fine, but when the PC is off it flashes different colors. And every time you boot up the PC the monitor color setting are reset.

I have tried different ways to fix it, from reading certain ways that are recommended. But I have had no luck.

If anyone knows a fix for it, it would be appreciated.
 
I've heard of some users having this issue. You could try power cycling the monitor by keeping it plugged into the PC, turning it off at the wall, waiting 30 seconds and then turning back on. If that doesn't help then your best bet is to contact Dell and they'll probably want to take the monitor in to get it fixed.

Out of interest, did you purchase this new or refurbished. And how old is it?
 
I rang up Dell and they have sent me out a replacement, which came this morning. When talking to the man on the phone from Dell he said to keep the stand and cables, and to send back the screen.

But the replacement monitor came with a stand. Should I send back the just the faulty screen, or send back the screen and the stand?
