Hi All,
I friend of mine wants to buy the Dell 30in flat screen,he's motherboard only has a agp slot, are they any AGP cards that will run it ok.
thanks

whats the model number? If its the 3007WFP, then I dont think it supports AGP cards at all according to the OCUK site.

- Before purchasing this product make sure you have a compatible graphics card that supports Dual Link DVI / DVI-D such cards are the ATI X1300/X1600/X1800/X1900 series and NVIDIA 7800 series graphics cards.
- This product is not compatible with AGP cards

Any card with dual-link DVI will do. If he can afford the 3007WFP he should also be able to afford getting off AGP. The 7800GS+ will do, but my performance increased about 25% moving from a £270 Gainward 7800GS+ (AGP) to the similar £200 Galaxy 7950GT on PCI-e.

i think he has a r600 ati card, runs his dell 24in ok, he is not into gameing. just dvd's music and surfing

So he only has agp and yet he has whats rumored to be the fastest, biggest, hottest gpu for pci-e that require a new standard for power?
Not to mention hasnt been released to anyone bar game developers.

I think not :D

Lay z boy-Very helpfull-feel free not to give me advise in future.

Jpmonkey69-Many thanks for you info, i did read that on the O/C site.

There are quite a few around after a quick look on google. How much does he want to spend? The Leadtek 7600 GT on OcUk has dual link http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-088-LT

Something a bit cheaper the Sapphire X1300 also has a dual link: http://www.sapphiretech.com/uk/products/products_overview.php?gpid=124&grp=2 Not 100% sure that the one on OcUk has from the description, you'd need them to confirm it.

You get a 1280x1040 res on the 3700 I think if the card doesn't support it...
