Dell 9400/7900GS replacement?

My 4yr old Dell 9400/7900GS 2Ghz C2D, doesn't cut it for gaming anymore. Any suggestions for a mid priced laptop to replace it that will have decent gaming performance. Will also use it for development work, visual studio/ MS SQL etc.

Well i5/ATI5650 combo is excellent mid range offering at the moment and there are many brands that do it. Prices can start from £500+ for Dell Studio 17s for example if you're willing to buy from their outlet. You have any particular price in mind?

Daft but hadn't thought about it tbh, 500~700 I guess. I was going to dell the 9400 and the i3@4Ghz desktop I have, whatever that raised.
