Dell and warranty issues?

Just wondering, if I picked up a Dell lappy, with 1GB of ram, and then chucked in 4GB - would this void the warranty?

I'm not sure what sort of 'warranty seals' they have on the chassis - but if none are broken, and I switch the original 1GB back should a problem arise... would they notice?

I don't know about dell's warranty, so I can't say with any certainly, but with most laptops I've had user installed upgrades don't void the warranty, as long as the parts in question are a compatible spec and do not cause damage to the system. If the system is damaged and the problem is linked to the new parts, then it is normally voided. Also, the new parts are obliviously not covered under the original manufacturer's warranty, only the original laptop parts.

Again, don't take my word, look it up yourself!

Is the processor and OS 64-bit? If no, you're only going to be able to use 3GB of that...

didnt realise ram was limited by the cpu. thought it was just the os that limited the use of over 3 gb of ram.

One sexy laptop. Finally decided on one!

Looks like I wont need to upgrade my memory.

Cheers Rich/Pulse, he found a bargain for me earlier...

Not sure if they even stick out. Which laptop option is that? Adding the T9300 usually costs a fortune...
