New to the forum, Hoping you can give me some advice.
I have a Dell C521 with suspected Mobo failure. (I have exactly same symptoms as this thread (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18167151&highlight=dell+c521)
I have tried to boot, with all peripherals disconnected, including graphics card memory USB, DVD drive etc, Still no change. Have also done CMOS reset. PSU appears to be ok & I have no diagnostic lights although USB port does seem to be lit in amber & previously it has crashed with a USB memory stick installed ? Any clues here ?
I have an ATIX1300 DVI graphics card but that is screwed as failed some time ago, so was using onboard. I think it is is nvidia chipset LE6060 or something?
I am suspecting Mobo. It is an HY175 running an Athlon 64 X2 2 gig CPU. I have a Samsung SATA 160GB hard drive part number(HD160JJ/P).I also have DVD Rewriter (Toshiba TS-H533) & TEAC card reader (CA-200)
It appears I can get a new Dell MoBo for £95, but only comes with 3 month warranty, so question is, whether I could get a better OEM Mobo and new case, PSU, Caddies etc for less money, that has decent onboard graphics or maybe a new ATI card ?.
