right i got me a dell Optiplex GX280 case, and it looks rpetty, i wanna mod it to put my computer in it :) however i need some help, anyone know where i could get some technicle drawings or guides to the Power button / front audio / front USB connectors cos they are really ******* dell ones atm :(

No swearing

Why would anyone want to put a decent PC in a horrible looking GX280 case? I know looks are a personal thing but common it has to be the most bland looking office box available. Do the world a favour send it off for recycling and then buy a nice Antec or Lian-li. Dell cases are great for dell PC's and making support techs and dell engineers jobs easy other than that no.

They're better than pretty much every other OEM case.

Not true. I had a PC from another well-known company and the case was pretty good. It got a tad warm, but all of the case fittings were standard and was really very very quiet for an OEM case. I have a Dell case here. I tried to take some components out which was a terrible mistake. The case is now broken and fairly unuseable.

The two things I hate abou the GX280 are the stupid flap thing on the front, and the ridiculous placement of the usb port. I have to deal with hundereds of the things here at work, and they are the bane of my life. Having said that, other than the front flap the rest of them is pretty tough.

regardless =), i quite like it and i need to put my computer in a case to make it sell-able and one of those dell cases is way more presentable than the pile of ****** my computer is in atm :)

so i take that as a no then?

No easy way to do it and it won't make your computer more marketable, you'd be much better off picking up a cheap antec like the Lanboy or one the SLK cases. Even a generic from you local PC shop will probably better and more appealing than a dodgy cut and shut job with the dell

It's not the fault of the case you broke it trying to take stuff out though.
