It's common place for people to slate companies for poor performance etc. so i thought I would take the time to big one up for a change!
I ordered a Dell M1530 XPS from the Dell Outlet before Xmas and paid extra for a travel adaptor set.
The laptop has been perfect since its arrival but on the first use of the travel adaptor setup I recieved a warning that the adaptor only provided 65w and the laptop needed 90w, so the lappy would run on lower power settings.
I have been trying to sort this with Dell for about 14 days now over Xmas. It's no big deal, as the laptop works fine and though the battery takes longer to charge on the travel adaptor and it runs almost as if on battery settings, the performance loss is neglibile.
However in an attempt to resolve it so far, they have sent me another 90w standard PSU by accident and another 65w travel set which had a diffo product code. Neither solve the problem but they aren't wanting them back
Their next attempt is going to be to send me a Targus setup that is 90 watts, but tbh they only figured out today that Dell don't have an own brand 90 watt setup for the laptop, although they are looking at whether a more powerful one from the XPS Gen 2 will do the job etc.
So yeah they haven't exactly sorted the problem, but they are doing their best based on the limited information they can find at their end, and they never stop ringing me to update me and chek things etc, plus they all speak English (Scottish or Irish guys).
I always buy from Dell as a consumer rather than a business as you have so many more rights when things go bad, but you could mistake me for a business customer their help etc. has been so good.
So big thumbs up to Dell CS. Even if they can't find a 90w travel PSU that will work, it isn't a major issue, and I am happy.
Hopefully this won't be deleted for bigging up another company...OCUK sells Dell and they provide the warranty service.
