Dell D630 - GPU faulty?

Guys

This is the GF parents, get the back lit screen light up, no other display, Dell diagnostics shows all the correct colors on the screen, when I plugged a vga in the back and display onto my office monitor I get the below

Dismantle it and stick the gpu or whole motherboard in the oven at 200 degrees for 7 minutes. (I used fan mode) Fixed my dead geforce go 7600 from my toshiba satellite pro p100. (Which looked just like your picture via vga)

It's a common problem with a lot of laptops. The process is well documented.

That, my friend, is the textbook case of a faulty GPU. Trust me, speaking as someone who wrote a whole guide on this stuff - unless you need it working in the meantime, IMO don't bother faffing around with oven tricks etc, just replace it. :)

You can get similar specced laptops for not a lot of £ these days.
