Dell D630 WiFi problem ?

Hi All I seem to have a problem with my Dell D630 Laptop i have built , it boots up no problem and everything looks ok , but i can,t get on the wireless connection ,and the light in the right hand side for WiFi is out , and the little switch on the side that turns it on and off doesn,t seem to work , what have i done wrong ? help please !:confused:
 
You need to make sure that the microswitch on the motherboard is still intact (it's the small switch which turns the wifi off and on) and is located just behind the toggle switch. I have seen one before where the switch has been broken off.

If this is the case then try and wedge the switch to the on position on the motherboard. Also reseat your wifi card in the slot and make sure that the aerial connectors are on properly.

You could also try another wifi card to be sure.
