Can anyone tell me how I can get an installation disk for a Dell Dimension 3000running Winwows Home as my own disk is faulty.
I have the windows code on the machine.
I have read on the forums that only a Dell disk will work due to a setting in the bios.
Thanks
Paul

rubbish, we rebuild all our dell kit with MS supplied disks. granted they wont necessarily have the right drivers and youll need to download them off teh dell site.

Other way round, dell cd's generally can't be used to install on non-dell machines. As above, any XP Home or Vista disc should do the job.

depends on the disk they supply. i have a whole drawer full of dell OS disks at work that ive used on other systems. but if its one of those "rebuild" disks then generally theyre a bit hit and miss.

If anyone has got a disk they can copy & send or share on line I would be greatful.
I am after a Dell Windows XP Home disk for a Dimension 3000 machine.
My number is 07891 602 056
Thanks for the help
