Ive just recieved the system and have noticed it has an inbuilt card and a pci-e x300 installed does this mean the pci-e card installed still shares the system memory or is it only the inbuilt x300 ,if you get what i mean?

Thanks

it has a small amount of grfx mem, like 32mb but will use up to 128-256mb system ram for textures if it has too.

the x300 isnt utter rubbish, you just have to turn the settings down to low, also the 6600gt flattens the x300 even more so the hyper memory version.

Latest games like bf2, f.e.a.r, just forget it, the quality will be so low you wont want to bother.

Not really sure what you mean, does the system have onboard graphics or does it just have a PCI E X300 with Hypermemory?

I reckon it has both. Usually on recent Dells. The onboard is disabled when you install a gfx card. Anyway with a X300 its going to struggle. Upgrade to a 6600GT or 6800GS.

Yea sorry guys didnt explain it to well ...Its has 2 Graphics ports on the back ones attached direct to the board and theres a pci-e card instaled with disables the onbaord x300 so it must have 2 x300 1's onboard and ones a addon pci-e card.

one of my friends got that dell with an x300. Was fine but he doesnt game much. The x300 was an add-on with dell too and it cost a lot. Your best off buying the system without upgrades (onboard graphics) and then buy upgrades off ocuk. Will be far cheaper and make for a better system

I bought a dell 5150 a couple of months ago, with the x600 graphics card. while it is ok, I am going to have to upgrade it as it isn't good enough! I'd buy the system without the card any buy one yourself to put in!! :D

No point in these x300 and X600 cards. Just make sure it has a PCI-E slot and buy something else. The onboard gfx is handy when you are between cards or theres a problem with your main gfx card. Pity you can't use the onboard with another monitor. You could on old PII Dells.
