Well what can I say this computer is probably the worst buy ever the components are cramped inside the case hardly any cooling whatsoever even when the side panel is removed the temperature of the HDD rockets from room temperature to what must be 70-80 degrees in a matter of a few minutes can anyone suggest any solutions should I get a new case? i have tried applying thermal compound silver base but that was only effective for a few days
The only situation when the computer stays on for a reasonable amount of time 3-4 Hours is when I have a conventional desktop fan sat on the floor blasting air at the computer which is a gross waste of electricity

Dell motherboards use custom connectors, don't think you can mount it in another case.

Looks like a case of installing fans everywhere if there are sockets for them

I wish I had realized this earlier on the button itself a piece of plastic costs 45 pound to replace!

Can he not just buy a new case and drill custom holes into the motherboard tray?

I mean in terms of power buttons, case open switches etc.

When i used to work in IT i wanted to re-shell an Dell Precision but it wasn't going to happen without some serious effort.

quite a few use a BTX motherboard with proprietry fixing holes, it also has a heatsink/extraction fan system that cant really be moved to another case, i used to have a dell and the noise was crazy, when i tryed to move it to another case it was so much hassel it wasnt worth it.
