Dell g15 vs Lenovo Legion 5

Legion 5 (82RB0050UK) i5 8gb Ram, 512gb ssd, rtx3060
Or
dell g15 (cn55128sc) i7-12700H, 16gb Ram, 512gb ssd, rtx3060
Dell is only £50 more and seems better spec apart from the display
I currently have a dell 5580 which is ancient, can't play games (barely do web browsing) and has about 30 minutes battery life.
So I'm looking for something I can watch some movies on (plus hmdi to TV for movies), play the odd game and get a handful of hours without it plugged in if I need it.

Which off the above is best or am I missing something else. Budget up to £1k

8gb ram is not enough, so go with 16gb. I'd be choosing 32gb personally but that costs more.

Yeh I wasn't sure. Easy enough to add some to it I supoose. The dell seems good spec. Can get it with an i9 and a 1tb drive for 100 but not sure if the i9 is complete overkill

i9 is usually overkill for PCs, presumably that translates to laptops.

Sorry forgot about the no competitors bit. i got a legion 5 with an AMD CPU in it with 16gb of ram
