Dell Inspiron 1300

Had this for a few years now and recently upped the ram to 3 GB (put a 2gb stick in to replace one of the pair of 1GB sticks i had installed)
Bios shows only 2GB installed but windows Vista shows 3GB
Who is lying to me ? :confused:

Had a bit of a search online and one site says that this lappy only supports up to 2 GB
Any one got any usefull info please?

I'm fairly sure that the system can only address up to 2GB, as a friend had the same problem you are having.
Not sure there is much you can do about it, unless someone has modded a BIOS for it, which is highly unlikely.

Yeah i came to the same conclusion.Gave the stick to a mate to upgrade his lappy
Strange that windows showed 3 GB though

Could try updating the BIOS, if there's a new one available on the Dell site.

Already on the latest/last one 2007 Ao51 bios
Old lappy now no more updates it seems
