Dell Inspiron 15-7559 (windows 10) - advice?

My son is using this laptop as a hand me down at the moment solely for Minecraft but ultimately for school work and remote learning.

But, it can't be updated to windows 11 (officially) but also the webcam has stopped working and the case is held together by some gaffer tape... It's a solid machine but the windows issue with the great windows 10 turnoff around the corner makes me think it's time to replace it, but honestly, I don't know what machine is comparable to this... Gaming isn't important, but a smooth Minecraft experience would be good.

Any advice on what to look out for? I do love a dell but these days I have no idea on intel graphics card Vs a dedicated gfx board and getting one like that is really quite costly....
 
You could probably get away with replacing it with a Mac. The base model Mac mini m4 is £599 and has a 10 core CPU and 256GB NVMe SSD. It will run Minecraft Java edition if that’s the only game you want to play.

Just need to factor in a monitor and keyboard/mouse. MacOS is fairly easy to use like Windows. Might not be your cup of tea though if you want another portable device like a laptop.
 
Are you looking for a laptop or for a desktop? This is the PC area and we can't recommend a replacement Dell for obvious reasons.

Yeah I get that. A laptop yes. I guess a competitor friendly question is, how do CPU/onboard mobile graphics fare these days?
