My Dell PSU has developed the infamous cable stretch where the low voltage DC lead leaves the power pack. The outer sheath has broken exposing the bare wires underneath.
A quick check of the Dell site does not bring up any listing for a replacement 90w PSU for the Inspiron 1520 (Part No. is LAOP50-00), only ones for older Dell's. Can anyone spec me a reliable replacement PSU given that Dell's use a non-standard input for the DC and even where people have successfully fitted a new PSU it seems the laptop "talks" to the PSU and can somehow determine if it's non-standard, throwing up error messages on the screen.
Either that or should the other Dell 90w PSU's work okay?
