Hi.
Im looking at the following system for someone else, and wanted some opinions, anyone care to help?

Main use: music, shopping and facebook. :p.

Inspiron 1525
1.7Ghz Pentium DC.
2Gb ram.
160Gb HDD.
2.0MP webcam.
BT v2.0+EDR.
ABG WiFi.
DVDRW.
1280x800 screen.

Are the Inspirons 1525s any good, as for the price, it appears to be the best i can get?

I bought that very same laptop 3 weeks ago, wasn't expecting too much for the price but i was only after a machine for college work and running starcraft (runs world of warcraft aswel). Its brilliant and i love it :) Sound quality is 'ok' but i havnt really tested it due to having other equipment for that!
 
I have this laptop, it'll suit those needs but if they want to listen to music with it i'd invest in some speakers.

Seems to have everything i asked the guy i spoke too on it.
The 2Gb ram, the webcam, the Bluetooth, the blossom purple cover. He did get the WiFi wrong, i asked for the ABG one, and he put the BG one on instead, but im not fussed, A is hardly used anymore.
Got the £60 shipping knocked off as well. :D.

Just gotta wait for it to come, remove all the rubbish off it, install a few apps, and give it the other half. :p.
 
Well originally I purchased a Vostro but due to the time it would take to come and the urgency in which I needed a new notebook I opted for the Inspiron 1525.

C2D 1.66ghz, 2GB ram, 120gb hdd, street design and integrated web cam etc.

I've had it almost two weeks, I love it. It's a little slow booting up however once I'm logged into windows it's quick, the laptop itself has a nice screen, it's very light in comparison with my old notebook and it's a joy to type with. I love the media keys in the top right corner and the blue lights are a nice trick too. The sound isn't great as most of you seem to have noticed the sound isn't great but I have it connected to my Aego M's and it's pretty good.
