Hey folks, I've just been tasked with setting up my sister's old laptop for my grandparents. There are a few problems with it (notably it's physically filthy but that's beside the point), the main ones being that the battery holds about 15 minutes of charge, and the second being that the trackpad doesn't work when the AC is plugged in.
I've had a search around and people are suggesting that the power source is interfering with the trackpad, does this sound right? In most of these cases the user is using a 3rd party charging block, but I'm still using the original Dell one.
Edit: I would add that it seems that it's not actually completely disabled; sometimes if I press hard enough it will track. So it definitely does sound like some sort of interference.
Anyone any ideas on what's going on here, and any potential fixes?
Cheers!
