Rescued this old laptop from work a few weeks back and finaly got round to having a look at it (needed a charger which I got from Ebay)
Now, when I first turn it on it boots up ok, but the screen is full of graphical distortions and flickers quite heavily (backlight is ok, it's the images themselves)
Once I'm on the desktop, if I restart the machine, it reboots and the display is fine?
However once it gets turned off for any length of time, the screen issues return once turned on. Also, it doesn't seem to want to remember my screen resolution etc but once again, a reboot fixes everything.
Operating system is Windows XP Pro, did a fresh install myself and installed all software updates. So far nothing else has been installed.
Laptop has all original components but a google indicates it SHOULD have 512 memory buy only has 256
Anyone got any ideas?
EDIT: Damn, sorry wrong forum. Didn't know there was a Laptop one. Could a mod kindly move it?
